One of the world’s most renowned online magazines on technology, invention and innovation has recently published an article on Trefecta. Gizmag puts Trefecta into an interesting trend: “Much like the auto market saw the rise of the supercar, the electric bicycle market is seeing the rise of the super e-bike. The super e-bike is far removed from the average electric bicycle and is essentially a motorcycle hiding inside a lighter, simpler bicycle body. The new Trefecta DRT bike doesn’t even hide it that well as its military-spec aluminum frame is as much motorcycle as bicycle. That’s okay, because this folding super e-bike aims to “create the game, not change it.””

BBC: “Good thing the Trefecta is not typical.”

As part of their ‘Fascinating in 2014″ segment Trefecta managed to get the BBC’s attention. The result is a fine article placed on their homepage. “Considering its makers will offer it for around $28,000 beginning in February 2015, the e-bike is either an act of extreme hubris or a bold attempt to redefine the category.”

We like to believe the latter.

Future of electric bikes developed in Baar

Electric mobility is experiencing rapid development. In Kanton Zug a new class of high-tech e-bike has been developed with the military in mind. The team that was involved came from the aircraft, automobile and bicycle industries allowing for a fully integrated design with many unique selling points. The Trefecta DRT was designed from the outset to be a durable solution for all urban and extra urban transport as well as a fun machine for the weekend!

Trefecta up for trial for peace and stability operations

Bikes and the Dutch army have a history together. Soon the Ministry of Defence will receive the first prototype of the Trefecta for testing. According to the owner Haiko Visser and engineer Niek Boersema the vehicle is highly suitable for peace and stability operations.

The NIDV, a Dutch conference for defense and security was held recently, and the presented Trefecta caught many eyes. Its potential and suitability for peace and stability missions was recognized by several key people with significant military ascendance.
